Hey there! It’s been a minute. I hope you are doing ok.
The fall and start of school completely kicked me in the behind. We spent several weeks with someone in the household sick at all times. My daughter is dealing with some acid reflux that is (according to the doctor) probably the aftermath of two back to back viruses. But despite the viruses being fully over with, the tummy problems persist. This has meant lots of doctor visits, new meds, late nights, early dismissals from school, and generally being out of our normal routine.
My mind has been fully on her, and on the sleep I am missing, and not here.

I also had lots of fun at my annual visit with my doctor, talking about the host of exciting or new maladies that led me to 4 referrals to specialists. I’m ok, but trying to make sure I prevent some foot pain from getting worse, and checking on my thyroid, and getting help figuring out how I can sleep better. It really is fun getting older!
And so, I haven’t posted anything here in over a month, despite my best efforts. I have in fact started several entries, but haven’t gotten around to finishing them, and then the world turned and my thoughts seemed less relevant, or something else (see above) was more pressing.
Besides the rampant back to school illness, lots of things have been inspiring new thoughts and posts: a full moon yoga class, Jane Goodall’s Netflix goodbye message, “6-7” being named as word of the year even though it’s not a word, the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the way music can whisper memories, that NY Times article about women ruining the workplace, and the rapidly disintegrating patience of every American citizen and the wellbeing of most as this shutdown ticks on and on (maybe it will be done today?).
Anyways, I am planning to spend some time finishing up the thoughts I mostly started over the past month, and posting them here at a more frequent pace than usual. So, see ya soon!
