Get up before everyone, and then lay in bed for a few extra minutes.
Put on your headphones, and play Hozier (or whatever music speaks to you).
Put on a warm and fuzzy sweatshirt or bathrobe.
Go outside and walk around your house at least once. See how the space has changed since the last time you bothered to look.
Go back inside. Make a warm cup of something to drink, and something you look forward to eating. Whatever it is, remember you are making it to nourish yourself – remind yourself there are no bad foods.
When you are done eating, make something beautiful. It doesn’t have to be hard. You can scribble on a page, write down a few words that go nicely together, make a collage of stickers.
Clean up your dishes. Run your hands under the warm water for a bit.
If there is someone you love in your home (a child, a cat, a partner), find them, hold them, and tell them you love them.
Now you are ready for the chaos.
